Ballet – Beginner to Advanced

Youth Ballet - Beginner to Advance
Classical ballet improves concentration, flexibility, musicality, and endurance. It is used as a foundation for other dance forms. The fundamentals of classical ballet technique and terminology are introduced in the Level 1 class and are progressively developed in the Levels 2 and 3. Pointe work is included in Level 3-5 with teacher’s permission only. To explore two types of dance on the same day, register for “Tap Dance – Beginner to Advanced” immediately following each ballet class. Adult caregivers are welcome to observe in the classroom or sit outside the room. Class room decorum is observed. Dress code is black leotard, pink tights, and pink split sole canvas ballet shoes. Register in the fall to prepare for spring fling.

Ballet & Tap - Get Started
Explore ballet posture, turn out, pointing, spotting, shuffle, flap and ball change. These classes will alternate: ballet one week and tap the next. You will be surprised how much you can experience in a short time. Ballet and tap shoes are not required.

Ballet Barre -Adult & Teen

Ballet Barre is practiced daily by classically trained dancers. The wide age range of this class allows parent to exercise with their children. This is an open level class that starts at the introductory level and progresses in difficulty through the session. Experienced dancers can take this class to supplement their existing classes. Enroll in Tap Adult & Youth immediately following to make it a combo class.

Tap Dance - Beginner to Advanced
Tap dancers make music with their feet. It’s great physical and mental exercise. Level 1 introduces basic steps and easy routines. Levels 2-5 progress to combinations and challenging choreography. Make it a combo class by taking “Ballet – Beginners to Advanced” immediately preceding each class. Adult caregivers are welcome to observe in the classroom or sit outside the room. Classroom decorum is observed. Dress code is black leotard, pink tights, and tan tap shoes. Please register for Winter session to perform in the Spring Fling.

Spanish and Tap Technique

This class is for dancers currently enrolled in the Dance Performance Workshop classes or Tap L3 with Sandra Dixon. Students will work towards advancing their skills in Spanish and Tap dance. Adult caregivers are welcome to observe in the classroom or sit outside the room. Classroom decorum is observed. Instructor approval required.

(Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Spanish Dance) Students are trained in four different styles of dance: ballet, tap, jazz and Spanish. This is a year-round class that combines technique and choreography and is designed to encourage versatility and develop performance skills. Adult caregivers are welcome to observe in the classroom or sit outside the room. Classroom decorum is observed. Instructor approval required. Please register for Winter session to perform in Spring Fling.
